A used is a person who uses and is abused by either proprietary software or proprietary social media services such as facebook, instagram, and twitter. For instance, a used of a proprietary game such as a live service one is encouraged or bombarded with ads to spend money on microthefts which wastes a bunch of money and even these games have created who economies like in counterstrike where stuff like skins and knifes can go for thousands of dollars. With a lot of games, they may contain drm and many games are licensed rather than owned after purchase which makes it so you cannot lend a game to someone, install it to another computer, play it offline, etc. You cannot make a detrivative work of a proprietary game like a fan game without getting into potiental legal trouble. With a proprietary social media service, they often have algorithms that try to keep people on their platform as long as possible since they make a lot of money through ads and data collection with selling and sharing that data to other companies and possibly with government agencies.
